Undergraduate students must have earned at least 40 hours of letter-graded, cumulative-GPA-computed credit at MSU to be eligible for honors. Undergraduate students who obtain a high level of performance during their University career are awarded the following honors:
- Cum Laude - 3.40 to 3.59
- Magna Cum Laude - 3.60 to 3.79
- Summa Cum Laude - 3.80 to 4.00
Those graduating with honors are acknowledged with special accessories worn during their commencement ceremony.
